B

Blå resept

Medicine that is given as a "blue receipt" is discounted. You need a medical reason that is acknowledged by the Norwegian government, which excludes most private doctors.

Gender affirming surgery (GAS)

Surgery to construction genitalia corresponding to the desired sex of the patient. It usually involves a vaginoplasty and vulvoplasty for trans women, and phalloplasty for trans men.

Genital reconstruction surgery (GRS)

Synonym for gender-affirming surgery

Genital confirmation surgery (GCS)

Synonym for gender-affirming surgery

P

Peritoneal pull-through (PPT)

A robot-assisted surgery that uses membranes from inside the abdomen to line the vaginal canal. See Surgery for more info.

Penile inversion vaginoplasty (PIV)

The typical vaginoplasty method that inverts the skin of the penis to line the canal. See Surgery for more info.

Sex reassignment surgery (SRS)

Synonym for gender-affirming surgery

Vaginoplasty

Surgery to construct a vaginal canal, called a neovagina. Almost always conducted with a vulvoplasty as well. See Surgery for more info.

Vulvoplasty

Surgery to construct a vulva, the female external genitalia. See Surgery for more info.

Z

Zero-depth surgery

A vulvoplasty without a vaginoplasty. See Surgery for more info.
